Players of PikPok’s horse racing simulator, Rival Stars: Horse Racing, have a lot to look forward to on Steam! PikPok has just dropped a massive multiplayer update, where up to 8 players can saddle up together in Free Roam.
Show off your horses and relax, socializing as much or as little as you want. Right now, it has the hilarious glitch of people’s horses moving like claymation mounts, which I personally hope they leave in.
But if you’re not really into playing with others, there’s still lots to love! Show-jumping is the new career mode added to the 1.40 update, giving you a new way to compete and show off your horse’s skills for in-game gold.
As fun as that looks, I have to be honest – The game was provided to me to try it out, and I haven’t had the chance to experience the new update yet because I’m still wrestling with the Rival Race, the successful completion of which is a prerequisite for unlocking the Show Jumping Career Mode.
The lack of accessibility in Rival Stars has made it currently impossible to explore the update fully. So, while I absolutely adore every other aspect of the game, I do hope for more accessibility options in the future.

This could mean utilizing the in-game jockeys, who are essentially NPCs that cost gold, for Rival Races or even allowing players to skip it by paying a lot of gold to consider it done. If I never have to run another Rival Race, it’ll be too soon. I will say, though, that using the jockeys is the perfect alternative for players who struggle with more involved controls.
Rival Stars Horse Racing is a lot of fun, but it needs more accessibility options for those who have limited dexterity in their hands
The French Chaser is the next horse you can add to your stables! With 10 new coats and face marking options to use on all your horses as well, there’s never been a more stylish time to play.
Honestly, the French chasers are beautiful and, if I had the in-game gold, I’d have a stable full of them because they do come with +5 sprint energy (which would be so helpful in the Rival Races) and +2 jump.
Last but not least, Rival Stars is bringing some visual changes to the table– the barn interface has been updated to match the mobile version.
There’s enough here to keep equestrians and casual players hooked until the next update!
Rival Stars is normally $39.99 on Steam, but it is 40% off until November 24, 2025, making it $23.99.
