April is here and it’s bringing us a ton of new cozy games! All of these are based on Steam and as far as I can tell, they’re all designed by indie developers!
If you’re looking for a way to pass some time in April, you’ll want to check out these games and keep them on your radar! If you see anything you like, be sure to wishlist it!

April’s upcoming cozy games!
Fishbowl
Fishbowl is a slice-of-life narrative game where you play as Alo, a 21-year-old managing her first job, life in the city, and grief over her grandmother’s death. The game takes place over the span of a month and your choices will shape the direction her days go. No matter what you choose, you can take comfort in the knowledge that there are no bad endings. You can get Fishbowl on April 2nd!
Clean Up Earth
Clean Up Earth is a restoration game that you can play solo, co-op up to 8 players, or online multiplayer with up to 25 players! You’ll hop from island to island, cleaning up the land and restoring nature. I’ve actually played the demo for this game and it was an extremely cozy time! I’ll definitely be grabbing this one the first chance I get! You can get Clean Up Earth on April 2nd!
Harvest Cafe
Harvest Cafe is an open-world farming life sim. You’ll manage several aspects of a farm-to-table restaurant by building a sprawling farm, taking care of your animals, and exploring the land to gather fish and resources to further expand. Everything you grow will either nourish your animals or can be used in your cafe to serve the community. You can get Harvest Cafe on April 3rd.
Mini Worlds Diorama
Mini Worlds Diorama is a sandbox building game where you’ll create little diorama worlds. It’s more than just room-building; you can build little cityscapes and villages where things move and have life to them. There are no timers and no objectives, just pure creativity with building tools and objects that range from several different themes. You can get Mini Worlds Diorama on April 3rd.
Belle Citique
Belle Citique is a city builder where you build up a village to your own design. As you build, you’ll attract wildlife and villagers to your settlement. While you have freedom of creativity, there are objectives to fulfill in order to open up more biomes and maps. Plus, your villagers may have a few ideas of their own they want you to implement. You can get Belle Citique on April 6th.
KuloNiku: Bowl Up!
KuloNiku: Bowl Up! is a management cooking game where you prepare unique meals for your locals. You’ll be able to upgrade your gear, customize your shop, and prove your merit in Chef battles to become the top chef. Along the way, you can make friends and learn more about your past. You can get KuloNiku: Bowl Up! on April 7th.
Nippets
Nippets is a hidden object game where you’ll find a specified collection of items hidden amongst everyday life. Not everything is out in the open; you will have to interact with your surroundings in order to find everything. Solve puzzles to unlock new areas and find all the objects! You can get Nippets on April 7th.
Messy Recipe: A Hidden Object Game
Messy Recipe: A Hidden Object Game is a hidden object game centered around cooking. A pesky, but friendly ghost hides your ingredients every day and you have to search them out. Once you find them, you can create different foods by customizing your recipes. Play at your own pace and enjoy the freedom of picking the ingredients you like. You can get Messy Recipe: A Hidden Object Game on April 9th.
Restore Your Island
Restore Your Island is a cleaning-up simulation. You and your dog have made a home on an island that is littered with trash and animals that need help. You’ll spend your days cleaning up the land and restoring the wildlife. As you play, you’ll be able to upgrade your tools to see quicker progress being made. I’ve played the demo of this game and it was pretty fun, it’s definitely more on the methodical side of gameplay. You can get Restore Your Island on April 9th.
High Above
High Above is a rooftop-building sandbox game where you’ll design and grow rooftop settings. Let your creativity guide you or accept gentle challenges from visitors to create their rooftop escapes. There are no timers and no stress, just pure creativity. You can grab High Above on April 9th.
A Storied Life: Tabitha
A Storied Life: Tabitha is a narrative puzzle game where you are sorting through the items of a deceased loved one to decide what to keep and what to sell. While sorting, you discover a destroyed memoir and set about restoring it. It’s up to you to fill in the blanks based on the items you decide to keep. This is one where I’ve played the demo and I felt like it was a uniquely interesting gameplay setup. You can get A Storied Life: Tabitha on April 14th.
Fishing Inc
Fishing Inc is an incremental fishing game. You’ll catch fish, sell them for money, and use earnings to unlock skills and better gear. You’ll catch a variety of fish across several locations that you can keep note of in your Fish Log. You can get Fishing Inc on April 14th.
Cleaning Up!
Cleaning Up! is, unsurprisingly, a game about cleaning up. You’ll tackle huge messes and turn them into clean, comfortable spaces. Clear the mess by throwing away garbage, sweeping, mopping, and even spraying surfaces clean. As you play, you’ll be able to invest in upgrades to help improve your cleaning experience. You can get Cleaning Up! on April 15th.
shapez 2
shapez 2 is coming out of Early Access, boasting an Overwhelming Postive review score. It’s a factory-building game where you design sprawling multi-level factories and production lines. By investing in your research system, you’ll unlock new buildings, mechanics, and upgrades. shapez 2 is available now for $29.99, but will not be leaving Early Access until April 15th.
A Tiny Garden
A Tiny Garden is an idle game that sits at the bottom of your computer screen. You’ll grow a sprawling garden complete with pets to keep you company. Sell the products of your farm and animals for profit or use the ingredients to create advanced goods for an even greater return. While you idle, you can build your way to a thriving business. You can get A Tiny Garden on April 15th.
Gecko Gods
Gecko Gods is an adventure puzzle platformer where you, a tiny Gecko, explore a forgotten land. Solve puzzles and sail between islands to uncover remnants of an ancient civilization. With the freedom to explore, you’ll be able to enjoy the adventure at a leisurely pace. You can get Gecko Gods on April 16th.
ShantyTown
ShantyTown is a diorama city-building game. You play as a surveyor who builds up and photographs 20 distinct locations. You’re encouraged to fill up every nook and cranny to build sprawling cities filled to the brim with life and personality. Each location offers a different set of objects and space, so each place feels unique. You can get ShantyTown on April 16th.
Medetashi Medetashi
Medetashi Medetashi is point and click puzzle game where you play as a cat with the ability to journey between real life and storybook pages. There are 4 main chapters and one secret chapter to experience and complete puzzles within. You can get Medetashi Medetashi on April 16th.
Cozy Sanctuary
Cozy Sanctuary is a farming sim idler where you care for animals that live at the bottom of your screen. Keep them happy by cleaning them and making sure you grow enough food to keep them fed. As you play, you’ll unlock facilities that will help automate tasks. You can get Cozy Sanctuary on April 16th.
Wormies
Wormies is a shopkeeper sim where you run your own worm shop. You’ll breed and sell hundreds of different worm variants. As long as you keep them fed and happy, they’ll do all the work in creating new worms. With profits, you can unlock upgrades and decorations. If you’re grossed out, don’t be. These worms look more like cat toys than the real thing. I’m actually pretty excited to grab this one. You can get Wormies on April 16th.
Express Car Wash Simulator
Express Car Wash Simulator is an immersive sim game where you run a car wash business. You’ll not only clean the cars, but by expanding your business, you’ll be able to customize them as well! As you grow you can change out tires and add stickers. You can get Express Car Wash Simulator on April 16th.
The Greenening
The Greenening is a short, incremental game about reawakening a forgotten world. Wash away ash, gather resources, and build up your very own little garden on a spaceship! There are both active and passive progressive mechanics and a ton of upgrades to unlock. You can get The Greenening on April 20th.
Outbound
Outbound is an open-world survival craft game that you can play solo or with up to 4 players. Start with an empty camper van and build it up through scavenging materials and crafting things yourself. By advancing technology, you can be self-sufficient! Oh, and most importantly, you can adopt a pet! You can get Outbound on April 23rd.
The Last Cat in the Universe
The Last Cat in the Universe is a mining clicker game where you play as an AI on a dying space station with one sole mission. It’s your entire goal to keep the last cat on your ship alive and happy. Recover resources, invest in upgrades, and find what’s most important: fragments of a lullaby that will make your cat feel truly safe. You can get The Last Cat in the Universe on April 23rd.
Above the Snow
Above the Snow is a narrative tycoon game where you and a group of friends manage a mountain vacation business. It’s up to you to manage the expectations of guests and emergencies that might arise. When you’re not seeing to the day-to-day of the Alpine resort, you’re out in the wilderness mapping trails. There’s a lot to balance and manage, especially with a game that boasts 20 hours of gameplay. You can get Above the Snow on April 23rd.
Capyvarias
Capyvarias is a colony sim clicker where you rebuild a capybara empire after everything is gone. Starting with two, Capyshan and Capymay, you’ll raise your colony by gathering resources, assigning tasks, expanding shelter, and unlocking new technologies that will offer upgrade options. Collect achievements to earn Capycoins and use those coins to buy clothes for you capybaras! You can get Capyvarias on April 24th.
Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth
Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is a follow-up to Snufkin: Melody of Moonminvalley. You’ll discover a frost-covered Moonminvalley after waking up early from hibernation and must work with your neighbors to banish the Lady of Cold’s grip on the land. Overcome challenges, explore the land, and fall into the nostalgia of Moomin. You can get Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth on April 27th.
Bobo Bay
Bobo Bay is a pet simulation game where you collect, breed, train, and accessorize little creatures known as Bobos. They’ll start as Saplings and grow through the stages of Seedling and Bud to reach their final form of Sprout. Go on excursions, race your bobos, and enhance the town through raising money for public projects. You can get Bobo Bay on April 29th.
inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories
inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories is a simulation game that takes place in early 1990s Japan. You’ll play as Makoto Hayakawa, a college student spending her summer working at a convenience store. Keep the store stocked and tidy, collect toys from the gachapon machine outside, and consider your responses carefully since this game has branching dialogues. All the while, you can enjoy an ASMR-like soundscape. You can get inKOBINI: One Store. Many Stories on April 30th.
Adorable Adventures
Adorable Adventures is an exploration game where you play as a baby boar named Boris. Your goal is to be reunited with your family and you’ll use scent trails to find them. Along the way, you’ll be able to search out items, complete quests, and uncover secrets. I played the demo for this game and it’s so stinking cute. You can get Adorable Adventures on April 30th.
Gacha Capsule Shop Simulator – Akihabara
Gacha Capsule Shop Simulator – Akihabara is a shop management simulator where you run a gachpon store. Design and organize your shop, keep the machines stocked, and use earnings to upgrade and hire staff. While you’re at it, you can open capsules for yourself to complete your own collection. There are over 10,000 figure variations, so you’ve got your work cut out for you. Gacha Capsule Shop Simulator – Akihabara is slated for an April release, but doesn’t currently have an exact release date.
Shorekeeper
Shorekeeper is an open-world survival craft where you wash up on a mysterious island. You’lll need to build a shelter, find food, and explore the island to create a base for yourself. Spend your time managing your farm, tending to animals, or exploring hidden worlds filled with rare ores and treasures. Shorekeeper is slated for an April release, but doesn’t currently have an exact release date.
