It’s National Geographic Day (January 27th) and if you don’t want to get outside to take pictures, why not stay in and play cozy photography games instead?
These games span a wide range of wildlife photography subjects. In one, you’ll adventure through the Amazon rainforest, taking pictures of insects and flora. In another, you’ll explore an island overflowing with wildlife of all types to photograph. The last takes you into the magical realm of your imagination, where you’ll photograph whimsical creatures.
We do our best not to highlight games that use Generative AI at any level of development or marketing. At the time of posting, these games have not reported or disclosed using Gen AI. Likewise, all articles are written and edited by humans… as evidenced by our occasional errors.
Cozy photography games

Flutter Away
Flutter Away is an exploration game where you explore the Amazon rainforest as a butterfly researcher. Search for flora and fauna, take pictures, and document them in your journal. Each picture will unlock more information about the subjects and you’ll even get to build a friendship with a capybara along the way!
Alekon
Alekon invites you to journey through your imagination to take pictures of fantastical creatures known as fictions. Each of them has its own concept as common as Rainy Day Magic and as intricate as Micro Management. You’ll be able to befriend them, play mini-games, and complete quests while solving puzzles. There are over 50 characters to discover!

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure
Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is an exploration game where you play as Alba, a young girl visiting her grandparents on a Mediterranean island. As you explore the island, you’ll take pictures of the local wildlife, clean up the land, help animals in trouble, and unify the residents against a mega hotel corporation that wants to build there.
