October had a lot of things going for it; we had a Steam Next Fest that brought us a ton of new cozy games to try the demos of and get excited for. And, here on Comfy Cozy Gaming, we started two new features: Cozy Games Today and Faves from the Week!

Cozy Games Today is a listicle that’s published nearly daily, shining a spotlight on some of the newest games, Monday through Friday. Faves from the Week is a more biased reflection of the prior lists, where we put all the games that we’d personally play into one list. Sometimes, this list will feature new content if games come out on Saturday that are worth mentioning.

SOPA - Tale of the Stolen Potato

SOPA – Tale of the Stolen Potato

Quick Verdict: SOPA – Tale of the Stolen Potato is short, sweet, and visually stunning. If you’re looking for a family-friendly option on game night that will keep your lil gamers busy but also speak to your Inner Child, this will be a win for the whole family. A code was provided for SOPA – Tale of the Stolen Potato by the publisher, and it was played on a PC.

Whisper of the House

Quick Verdict: Whisper of the House is a fantastic example of what I feel an organizational game should be. You’re free to arrange things as you’d like, and you’re given enough space to do that. With the ability to explore the town, it kept things from feeling too stagnant, and the overarching mystery kept me coming back for more.

Undusted: Letters from the Past

Undusted: Letters from the Past

Quick Verdict: Undusted: Letters from the Past is great at its core as a cleaning game. However, the narrative shows a grief-stricken parent turning to themes of distance and verbal abuse in the form of “tough love,” leading to a situation where trauma is unresolved. The ending does very little to show a path of healing.
