Restore Your Island dropped yesterday and I got to play around in it. I played the demo a while back and I wanted to check out the full version build.

I got to clean up a bunch of stuff, save some animals, and discovered a creepy doll that may or may not be haunted. She had a neat little disappearing act when I’d turn around and in one of the areas she frequented, she stood all on her own. Fun times. Super great.

If you want my TL;DR, it had promise, but the game tries to stretch out the cleaning by making it mind-numbing because that’s all there is. Some people were reporting finishing it in 3 hours; I’m woefully inefficient and haven’t achieved that level of janitorial success.

Additionally, the game is too expensive for what it offers, nor does it offer much in the way of a tutorial. You’re kind of just blundering along. The stamina system is unforgiving and while the game isn’t a complete wash, you’ll want to wait for a heavy sale.
