It’s crazy to think that it has been 25 years since Animal Crossing first came out, but that’s more because I have to accept in my bones that I’ve been playing it for that long.

To celebrate the anniversary, you can log in to your Animal Crossing: New Horizons game and receive a special gift in your mailbox.

As always, gifts come attached to letters, and Nintendo wrote something special for this one.

It’s been 25 years since 4/14/01. It was said, “Better than one is two, better than two is four, and better than four is…many.” And there are so many of you now! Thank you. Enjoy your islands your way.

When you open the present from Nintendo, you’ll get a giant, iconic leaf-shaped statue that will sit across two squares. The statues are not limited to your island, so everyone with a home on your island will be able to receive a statue of their own.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to sit on this like the special art made for today suggests, but they’re still incredibly cute and fun to have.

In addition to these statues, more songs were added to the Nintendo Music app for the occasion. You’ll be able to listen to 158 tracks from the Nintendo GameCube Animal Crossing game. This will give you 5 hours and 18 minutes of nostalgic music to vibe with.

25 years is a long time to be a fan of a franchise and I’m excited to see what more is in store for us in the future.
