Disney Dreamlight Valley is going to look a little different going forward. Not only are we going to be getting a new star path and a Halloween event with Season of Scares, but there are also some patch notes and economy updates that will be putting some major changes into place.

It’s a lot of information and even my eyes were glazing over as I was trying to digest all of the new information. So, I’m going to do my best to make it an easy-to-understand breakdown of the things that are coming. Disney Dreamlight Valley: Oogie Boogie’s Halloween Event

  • On September 23rd, you’ll be able to step through a mirror in Scrooge’s Store that will lead you to a series of weekly challenges that you can complete for exclusive rewards like Oogie Boogie and Zero.
  • So long as you start the quest before November 4th, you’ll be able to unlock Oogie Boogie and Zero. If you don’t, you’ll need to wait until next season to unlock him.
  • The event lasts 6 weeks and you’ll need to make sure that you have The Peaceful Meadow, Scrooge McDuck’s Store, and Chez Remy unlocked.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Patch Notes

  • Running alongside the Season of Scares, you’ll work on the new star path: Haunting Elegance. By completing tasks, you’ll unlock new attire and furniture to fit the spooky vibe of the season.
  • The Haunted Floating Festival will return on October 7th and run through October 31st. You’ll explore the festival grounds to complete new and returning puzzles to earn exclusive seasonal decorations.
  • Starting October 14th and running through October 31st, the Trick or Treat event will be back with new ways to earn candy. Collect candy in the Plaza and by going to homes with a jack-o’-lantern outside to trick-or-treat. The rewards you get will include Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Halloween Town exterior decorations.
  • An Event Board will be available to take part in a new, permanent Star Path: the Astronomer’s Journey.
  • You’ll now be able to place some of the gameplay buildings on floating islands. You’ll be able to move the following to floating islands: Tiana’s Palace, The Boutique, Olaf’s Grand Exhibition, Stables, Wall-E’s Garden, Moana’s Boat, Beast’s Greenhouse, Aladdin’s Gem Stall, Kristoff’s Stall, Mulan’s Tea Stall, Tiana’s Meal Stall, and the Valley Visit Station. As a note, you won’t be able to interact with the visit station on a floating island. Also, expansion-specific versions of buildings and stalls can be moved to that expansion’s floating islands.
  • The last rooms, Forgotten Lands and Valley Plaza, in Olaf’s Grand Exhibition will be open and will have rewards for completing them. Once all 8 rooms are completed, you’ll earn the Grand Exhibition Window, Grand Exhibition Fountain, and a Scholarly Fox companion.
  • Coming to Scrooge’s store, you’ll be able to pick up the Aqua Mermaid Backpack, Scarlet Gothic Chair, Cozy Autumn Bed, Botanical Vine Flower Lamp, and more!
  • With this update, you’ll be able to toggle and choose whether you want to clear furniture and decorations, landscaping, fences, and paths from any decorated biome or sub-biome. You won’t be forced to individually clear items one by one.
  • Improvements have been made to the map that will reduce clutter and provide more information. You can hover over shops to see everyone who is in a building at once, see which way your character is facing on the map, and see more information regarding labels, icons, and caves.
  • Values to build character homes and open new realms are being adjusted to be more affordable. No word has been said on if those who spent full price will see some sort of compensation.
