There are 22 new games that could fall into your personal cozy game aesthetic. They span a wide genre from the more familiar to the more obscure. There are platformers, farming sims, JRPGs, and more! There’s even a surprise visit from SpongeBob SquarePants.

We do our best not to highlight games that use Generative AI at any level of development or marketing. At the time of posting, these games have not reported or disclosed using Gen AI. Likewise, all articles are written and edited by humans… as evidenced by our occasional errors.

The Diner at the End of the Galaxy - Cozy Game

The Diner at the End of the Galaxy

The Diner at the End of the Galaxy is a base-building management game. You’ll influence the fate of the Nusa star system by feeding the inhabitants and making them happy in exchange for Faction Points to use for special perks and items. Grow ingredients, create a menu, and discover treasures in the outer worlds.

Kingdoms of the Dump

Kingdoms of the Dump is an SNES-style JRPG set in a world of garbage. You play as Trash Can Knight and Dustin Binsley as they quest across five and a half kingdoms to save Dump from war. Created by two janitors, you can be sure that the Kingdoms of Dump were created from a knowledgeable source.

Can't Stop Rory

Can’t Stop Rory

Can’t Stop Rory is a voxel-style farming game with a bit of a twist. You’ll plant, grow, and sell crops, but each night, the Unfed will rise to tear down what you’ve built. You’ll put effort into building up your base with traps, turrets, and mecha to defend your peaceful little farm.

Which games from this list are you most intrigued by? I’m fairly terrible at JRPGs, but something about Kingdoms of the Dump really calls to me. The pixel art is absolutely stunning, the concept is cute, and I love that two janitors are behind it.
