We’re big fans of Fortnite here at Comfy Cozy Gaming, with all of the various ways to play the game. But, we’ve also often run into a situation where there was a cute skin or emote that we wanted and just didn’t have the exact amount of V-Bucks. Since we didn’t want to spend a ton of money for just a little thing, we opted not to get it. Starting October 14th, that changes.
Next month, if you are a little short on V-Bucks in your account, you’re not forced to buy the entire kit and kaboodle in order to reach the amount you need (plus some).
Fortnite’s official news page explains it like this:
Let’s say you want an item that costs 500 V-Bucks but you only have 400 V-Bucks in your account. You’ll be able to buy just the 100 V-Bucks needed.

This is similar to how the Nintendo eShop has always been since at least the Nintendo 3DS era. Instead of forcing a locked amount based on tiers, you could always make a purchase through the eShop for whatever game, DLC, or add-on you wanted by purchasing an “exact amount”, even though you were buying content with “points” back then.
But, wait! There’s more! This isn’t just a Fortnite thing. You’ll be able to buy Exact Amount increments of 50 for Fortnite and Rocket League, with Fall Guys having exact increments of 100.
While you can’t share them across games, it’s nice to see Epic Games have this at all. There have been plenty of times where I’ve opted not to get something from the Fortnite Shop because I didn’t want to overspend at the time.
The Exact Amount offer is coming to Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys on October 14th, 2025, via every platform possible, which includes Xbox, Nintendo, PC, Android, iPhones, iPads, and the Fortnite web Item Shop.
