There are four new cozy games released on Steam today, from the standard Sokoban-style puzzle game to evading a prison with the ever-important tool: a spoon! With the holidays dropping away, I’m looking forward to a return of games coming out at more steady schedule.
We do our best not to highlight games that use Generative AI at any level of development or marketing. At the time of posting, these games have not reported or disclosed using Gen AI. Likewise, all articles are written and edited by humans… as evidenced by our occasional errors.

Digging a Hole… with a Spoon… Escape from Alcatraz
Digging a Hole… with a Spoon… Escape from Alcatraz is a simulation game about escaping prison with a spoon. By finding contraband, you’ll be able to trade them in for schematics to upgrade your spoon. There are no timers, so you can escape at your own pace. The game does warn for triggers such as epilepsy, claustrophobia, and motion sickness. So, you’ll want to keep that in mind if you’re sensitive to those things.
The Path Home
The Path Home is a 2D pixel-art puzzler where you explore an interesting world. Built a bit like a board game, you’ll flip black and white tiles to create new paths to your end goal. The map will have fake paths to avoid and a crow to reunite with. So, mapping out your course will be integral to success.

Auto Pet Racers
Auto Pet Racers is an early access game that is a 2.5D racing simulator. You’ll have various animals race against each other around a track. You’ll be able to upgrade their speed and wisdom and train them up for various gains.
…and one more puzzle game…
- Gebinden – Sokoban, Strategy, Puzzle
Which games are making it onto your wishlist? I’m amused by Digging a Hole… with a Spoon… Escape from Alcatraz, but as someone who suffers motion sickness in games pretty easily, it’s one I’ll have to skip. I’m honestly pretty impressed that they gave trigger warnings.
If none of these games put the pep in your step, you can check out the Cozy Games Today tag for all the most recent releases on Steam lately.
