It’s never been a better time than right now to get into Pokémon TCG Pocket! Whether you haven’t given it a shot yet or you’re like me and just needed a break from it, now is the time to get on board or revisit the game. Starting September 29th through October 29th, you’ll be able to open Deluxe Pack: ex booster packs.
These packs are highly unique and something new that Pokémon TCG Pocket is doing for the first time. Inside the Deluxe Pack: ex you’ll find new cards as well as older ones spanning from Genetic Apex through Wisdom of Sea and Sky. These packs will only have four cards in them, but the lure is that you are guaranteed a four-diamond rarity or higher in every single pack.
This is a heavy boon for pack openers because having a hit in every single pack is what Pokémon card collecting dreams are made of. Unfortunately, we haven’t been given any word on how many packs will be available. My guess is that it will continue to work the same way as all previous packs, and you’re guaranteed two packs to open per day.
If that’s the case, it may be worth paying the subscription for the month of October. In doing so, you’ll up the number of card packs that you can open in a day.
In terms of what’s new with this pack, some cards will feature parallel foil designs or new illustrations entirely to give a varied or updated look to some of the existing cards.
Unfortunately, this isn’t going to help you fill the holes in your previous collections because all of these cards will go into their own “Deluxe Pack: ex” section in the Pokedex, but it will help you improve your decks if you’ve been trying to get a certain Pokémon for deck builds.
But, the good news is that they’ve made it clear that these Deluxe Pack: ex boosters will be available again in the future, so if you end up enjoying this event, you can look forward to it coming back.
