It’s the first, so you know that means that it’s time to cobble together all the games that we played last month in our June 2024 Cozy Game round-up. We didn’t get a ton of games done, but they had quite a bit of variance in what the genre and gameplay experience was like.
Usually, we just talk about reviews, previews, and demos. Sometimes, we have a bit at the end with blurbs of games we didn’t like for whatever reason we detail in that section. But, today, we’re adding in more news related items for various reasons.
Firstly, something heinous happened in our indie gaming space with blatant plagiarism that we want to make sure has proper attention put to it.
Secondly, we realize that some news — especially in just press release form — isn’t easily consumable. So, we’re adding them in a highlights-type section so you can easily see what was new last month.
Lastly, we’re going to be starting to send out newsletters for our round-ups starting next month. We’ll still be posting them here, so there’s no obligation to join. If, however, you’d like to see the monthly reminders, you can join up by putting your e-mail into the supplied form below.

Reviews
Multiversus came and went and came back only to be a bit of a disappointment for anyone who likes WB properties and fighting games. This game could have used quite a bit more time in the oven.
If you want to try out the horror genre on lite mode, then Exit 8 is the perfect game for that. There are no major jumpscares, and while it does perpetuate the air of unease, you’re never going to get so worked up that your adrenaline kicks in.
I wanted to love Autopsy Simulator and, in some ways, it was an excellent game. But, the story was the main focus of gameplay and I felt it lacked something to really make the game shine.
Ylands: Nintendo Switch Edition seemed far more grand in its presentation than it actually was. If you’re a fan of survival games, give it a try. But, if you’re expecting Indiana Jones adventuring like the trailer suggests, you won’t find that here without hours of grinding, if at all.
SUMMERHOUSE is a relaxing way to spend some time with cute graphics, but I really wish we had a way to change up some of the colors of items.
Pine Hearts is such an amazing game that breaks down the journey of loss into one of hope and inspiration. I loved everything from the graphics to the music – which is so rare for me – and I feel like this is a phenomenal game to play.
While the art in Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge is adorable, there is a bit of a learning curve with everything you can juggle and the way that you breed frogs. Ultimately, the game felt like I was constantly in tutorial mode.
I was honestly surprised that the Couchmaster CYPINK is pretty cozy to use. But, you’re going to take up a lot of room while getting snug with your bright pink lap desk.
Previews
In the truest sense of the word, Clothing Store Simulator is just that; a clothing store simulator. If that sounds like fun to you, then definitely give it a try. It’s in early access right now, so you may run into some bugs, but they’ll be patching and making updates to fix any issues.
Demos
With chaos guaranteed, you’re never going to find a dull moment in playing What the Car?. And, if you finish the game or want to try your hand at making your own, there’s a builder to make your own tracks. You can share them online and play tracks uploaded by other people as well!
Spill the Beans is basically a visual novel, but you control a lot of the narrative. And, honestly, I feel like it’s giving me more options than I usually get.
