If you were a fan of Vivid Knight, then you’re about to get hyped because the sequel, Vivid World, is coming on November 5th! Whether you want to play solo or co-op, this party-building roguelike auto-battler will fill that niche.
Battle your way through procedurally generated dungeons and customize your team along the way with Lemuria at the helm! Following our new heroine, you’ll continue the same basic principles as you did in Vivid Knight. You’ll help Lemuria wield Jewel Magic; each jewel has characters inside that form the bulk of your party.
Traverse the Underworld and meet quirky characters who will help you buy, sell, or merge character gems or upgrade stats in return for crystals you find along the way. Even if you have a character, you’ll want to keep an eye out for them in the shops, by combining three of the same character, you’ll unlock better stats into silver and then gold status.
Resource management will be key to thriving in the dungeons in the Underworld. You’ll have to balance what you need with what you want because if you get too greedy, you may just find yourself in a dungeon you can’t get out of.
With each new level of dungeons you master, you’ll learn more about the patrons who live there as well as the character jewels you possess.

While it does boast being an auto-battler, I’m not getting the sense that this is really the type of game that you can set and forget. You’ll still have to be present in order to plan things out and take advantage of the merchants you’ll come across. As you gain new characters, you’ll have to think about which jewels best serve the party in order to create the most powerful team possible.
I decided to check out the demo because I was drawn in by one thing: the art style. Unfortunately, the art wasn’t enough to snag me since this isn’t my normal cup of tea, but I still had to write about it. The art is ten out of ten GORGEOUS. Every character design was unique and charming, right down to the NPCs.
If any of this sounds like your jam, then I urge you to play the demo. Even though it wasn’t what I cozy down into, I could still see that the bones of the game were structurally sound. There’s genuinely a good game here, and if you love roguelike auto-battlers, you’re going to be so happy to add this one to your collection.
Even if you’re unsure that Vivid World is a game you’ll enjoy, play the demo if for nothing more than to appreciate the art. I’m sincerely bummed that I wouldn’t thrive in this genre. While you’re there, go ahead and wishlist the game as it will help out the developers!
If this isn’t your jam, then stick around and check out some other games we’ve reported on, like GrowBud or Gumball in Trick-or-Treat Land!
