Quick Verdict: Spirit City: Lofi Sessions – All Aboard! DLC is another hit out of the park for Mooncube Games. Yet again, I have so much more to love and very little to nothing to complain about. I love that there are new variations of past companions and highly recommend adding the DLC to your playing experience.

The Spirit City: Lofi Sessions – All Aboard! DLC has dropped and it brings new areas to decorate, more companions, and new backdrops to the Spirit City base game. If you’re unfamiliar with Spirit City, then I urge you to go look at our multiple reviews on the game so far, including the base game and the previous DLC, Cozy Kitchen.

Spirit City is, honestly, more of an experience than it is a game. It’s meant to create a unique environment for you to decorate while hanging out with an adorable little animal friend. It has pomodoro timers, to-do lists, lo-fi music, ambient sounds, a journal function, and a habits tracker.

Whether you need help focusing or you just want to have something on while you chill out, Spirit City is a perfect game to have open. Personally, I love collecting the spirits and redesigning my avatars and space every so often.

With All Aboard, we get to enjoy the aesthetics of being on a train traveling to new places. You have an interior train car that you can decorate, as well as a balcony on the caboose that lets you enjoy the outdoors.

The styles ranged from sleek modernity to Steampunk to Victorian mansion. It’s highly unlikely for someone to grab this game and not find something that resonates with their own personal style.

While All Aboard does not bring us more items for our avatar, it does bring the aforementioned traincars as well as new companions. We have the ability to befriend 11 new companions and these might be my favorite additions, which is hard to say considering the last DLC brought a bunch of food-based friends.

Not only do we get brand new companions, but we get different variations on some of the original spirits as well. If you love Bulbee, Flutterfrog, Lenny, Sunquill, Chapterpillar, and Hedgelog, then you’ll be over the moon for these new variants.

Personally, I couldn’t be happier about Bulbee, Flutterfrog, and Chapterpillar. I didn’t think they could be built upon better, but I adore these variations even more.

As far as new features go, we have a ton more backgrounds to see out the window, new activities, and new songs. Recently, Spirit City partnered with Lofi Girl and now you can enjoy seven new playlists filled with Lofi Girl music.

In terms of how the game plays, the only thing that I’ve noticed about this DLC is that it seems the spirits are found a lot slower than in previous iterations. I don’t really mind that, but I did notice that it took several days of having the game open, whereas I could get all the new companions the same day before.

For cons, I really didn’t see anything that could be considered as a downside. Spirit City has the foundations pretty much tied up with a bow, and All Aboard slotted in perfectly.

If you’re the type that uses Spirit City often or just want the new companions, then the price tag works. Otherwise, you may not find the $8 fee to be worth it.

The All Aboard DLC is another homerun as far as the Spirit City IP is concerned. If you want to dive into a new adventure, you can get the All Aboard DLC for $7.99. It will require the Spirit City: Lofi Sessions base game, so if you don’t already own it, you’ll need to grab that as well for $11.99.
