Nintendo dropped a full 25-minute Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase earlier this morning, full of trailers and announcements from their 3rd party publishing partners. While tons of RPGs took the majority of the spotlight, there were some great morsels of cozy games to sink your teeth into as well.
Chillin’ by the Fire is exactly what the title suggests it to be.

Let’s get the coziest-looking game from the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase out of the way: Chillin’ by the Fire. Chillin’ by the Fire is more of a simulation game than an actual game. You sit and keep your campfire going. That’s it; that’s the game.
You can choose from a number of locales, such as the beach, forest, and a snowy mountain top. Build your campfire, maintain it, roast marshmallows, set off fireworks, and relax while enjoying the scenery. This Nintendo Switch 2 game will take advantage of the multiplayer aspects of the console to just hang out with up to four friends.
I’m loving the chill nature of Chillin’ by the Fire, which is great, because it’ll be out on the Switch 2 later today.
Hela reminds me a lot of Smushi Come Home, and we love Smushi Come Home.

Inspired by Scandinavian folklore, Hela puts you in the tiny shoes of a mouse on an adventure. Traverse the lush world, solve puzzles, and help those in need in a non-linear, open world experience. You can even play the game co-op with friends online or local split-screen.
While not exact, it reminds me a lot of Smushi Come Home. If you’re new to Comfy Cozy Gaming, Smushi Come Home is the only game we’ve ever broken our own Cozy Score over with an 11/10. So, we have high hopes here for Hela, which will be out sometime in 2026.
Goodnight Universe is a wholesome reverse version of The Baby in Yellow.

Babies with psychic powers are nothing new in games, with indie titles like The Baby in Yellow putting you in the shoes of a demon spawn’s babysitter. But, Goodnight Universe is like the Uno-reverse flipped version of that.
Goodnight Universe — coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC — has you play as a 6-month-old baby who has developed mysterious psychic powers and just wants the love of their family, while an evil tech company wants to take you away.
It seems to be fully voice-acted, as the family members are some top talent, such as Lewis Pullman, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Beau Bridges.
Coming from developer Nice Dream, it also acts as a spiritual successor to their previous game, Before Your Eyes, allowing you to utilize a camera for eye-tracking technology that likely helps your psychic abilities.
Goodnight Universe will be out on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on November 11th, 2025.
Quick mentions from the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase
In addition to the games above, there were a couple of other announcements that fit the cozy bill as well from the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure – Wheatflour Wonderland is a new DLC for Hello Kitty Island Adventure, which finally launched recently on non-Apple platforms. In the DLC, you’ll meet “a new Sanrio character, Cogimyun, and explore the whimsical Wheatflour Wonderland to craft powerful wands, unlock the story, and transform into your most magical self.” The DLC will be out sometime in Fall 2025. While the Partner Showcase says it’s on the Nintendo Switch, it’ll likely also be on PC via Steam, though nothing is currently confirmed.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is an HD remaster of the original Plants vs. Zombies game that came out in 2009. It will include a ton of new content, including new levels. Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted will be out on both the Switch and Switch 2 on October 23rd, 2025. While nothing else is currently announced, it’ll likely come to PC and other consoles as well.
