The Steam Deck is about to get better with the Steam Deck OLED model. With several upgrades to the system, you can stay cozy longer and more efficiently while gaming.

Boasting a 30-50% increase in battery life, faster downloads, and a lighter model means that your system won’t overheat and you’ll be able to download and play games a lot easier than before.

There’s a lot on the specs list about how the Steam Deck OLED differs from the original Steam Deck and I’ll link the page for you to look at them if that’s your thing. But, I wanna talk about the cozy potential that the Steam Deck OLED brings to the table.

Handheld consoles have always championed the idea of disconnecting from your computer or TV and playing where you want to play. So, when the Nintendo Switch came out allowing us to have a plug-in or take-and-play option, it seemed revolutionary.

I, personally, love playing on the TV. There’s something about how I have to hold handheld consoles that just tire out my hands well before I’m ready to stop playing.

Additionally, I have the same problem with playing on a computer with a mouse and keyboard. And even though you can play your Steam games with a controller, I’ve long wished that I had the ability to take my Steam games to a cozier chair.

Steam Deck OLED frees you from your desktop

Fortunately, you don’t have to buy the newest OLED to get this feature since both come with USB-C docking options, but if you haven’t purchased a Steam Deck yet, it’s definitely worth weighing out your options on which one to get.

I don’t have one yet, but I’d love to be able to disconnect from my desktop. I’d probably play my Steam library more often with one. So, if you’re looking to take your Steam games to a comfier location, the Steam Deck or Steam Deck OLED is definitely a game-changer.

If you want to check out the specs for the new OLED, you can check it out on their announcement. You’ll have a chance to snag one of your own on November 16th starting at $549. The price goes up from there depending upon your storage needs.
