It’s that time again when we compile a list of cozy games we played and news that we reported on last month! With Steam Next Fest taking place last month, you can imagine that we dove into quite a few demos to check out games that will be released in the near future.

Not only did we have Steam Next Fest, but we, also, had a Pokémon Presents that gave us a bounty of information spanning several Pokémon titles. You can find the articles linked below.

As always, we tried to format this for easy consumption. You’ll be able to find our review, previews, and demos below. Joining them, you’ll find the news, any lists we did, and press releases about upcoming games.

February was a busy month for cozy games and while March may be calmer, it’s dropping phenomenal titles that we’re excited to talk to you about soon.

Cozy Game Reviews

My Little Life - Cozy Game

My Little Life is your next indie idle game that sticks to the bottom of your screen while you work. While it has a lot of bugs and problems at launch, the game itself is incredibly well-made for what it is and I recommend it as a great timewaster.

Blood Bar Tycoon has potential, but the cons outweigh the pros. I liked the premise. Unfortunately, building wasn’t intuitive and without goals or a direction to know when my bar would advance, I was left feeling like I had a bugged game.

A Game About Digging A Hole

If you want to spend time digging a hole, then this is the game for you! You work on an upgrade system where you sell the things you find and buy better equipment to dig some more. It’s a simple premise, but it’s a fun way to toil away some time in A Game About Digging a Hole.

Ropuka’s Idle Island is, at its core, an idling game. It’s, also, an upgrading game. It overachieves at idling, but the upgrading part is slow which means progression is slow. I wouldn’t call the pacing stagnant, but you will be waiting around hours to make a small dent in stats.

The Bear: A Story from the World of Gra

In The Bear, you’re told a story in five chapters, and at the end of the last four, you are given a choice: the way that you want to go and the way the bear wants to go. The Bear is an artistic expression. The art style is all simple shapes and flat colors that make it the perfect canvas for the story being told.

Previews

I really enjoyed playing Hydroponics Farm and Store Simulator. As far as simulators go, this is a top-notch one. And, as far as games (in general) go, I feel like this is a pretty solid option since it caters to more hands-on players and the idle gamer.

Check Inn

In my opinion, Check Inn either needs more forgiving room shapes or a bit more balancing with funds. Either way, I look forward to seeing how the game progresses and I’m optimistic that, by full release, it’ll be a sturdier, more solid game.

Pekoe is cozy, but it seems to advance like molasses. There were many times when I was simply sitting on the main map waiting to see the notification that someone had shown up for me to attend to.

Dealer's Life Legend

Dealer’s Life Legend is the newest addition to the line of “Dealer’s Life” games that span PC and mobile platforms. The premise is simple; you work at a pawn shop. Items come in that you can haggle a price for and then you turn around and upsell that item to someone else for a profit.

Demos

Instants is an adorable scrapbooking game with a puzzle element involved. You play as someone whose family comes to them for help in scrapbooking memories. You’ll get requests from multiple people in your family tree asking you to beautify a set of pictures from a favorite time period or specific memory.

Tiny Garden

Tiny Garden, is a little farm builder that rests inside a capsule toy. If you’re familiar with a Polly Pocket, then you’ll understand the premise of this game. The toy opens up into the top and bottom half. In the top half, you can decorate the space with furniture and decorations. In the bottom half, you’ll have farmland to take care of.

In Spray Paint Simulator, you play as someone who takes odd paint jobs. The demo only shows two scenarios, but they couldn’t be more different. In the first mission, you’re painting a car and in the second, you’re painting kitchen cabinets. You can’t just dive into painting, though. You have to mask off everything you don’t want to paint and remove fixtures like handles.

Grandma, No

The demo for Grandma, No was incredibly small and gave about 7 minutes of content. So, it was kind of hard to judge what the actual gameplay was like. Grandma, No puts you in the driver’s seat of the eponymous Grandma. Your son’s babysitter was murdered, so he comes and drops off the baby with you while he and his wife head to a nude beach. Odd, but funny.

Isle of Isvenness is part pet collector and part idle game. It brings us another desktop idler with a twist. Instead of one little box, there are several that float around your screen. There are three main islands for your pets to exist on and sometimes they’ll have enemies to fight that will drop treasure chests.

Bugtopia

In Bugtopia, you’re working toward building up a terrarium to house insectoid friends. Not only can you amass a colorful collection of friends, but you can breed them for even more vibrant colorations all while idling earning money from their presence in the tank.

Cash Cleaner Simulator puts an interesting spin on money laundering. Not only are you moving cash illegally for people, but you’re literally cleaning the cash. Sometimes, you’ll get crisp bills to move along. Other times you’ll get money coming in that is soaked that needs to go into a dryer or caked in dirt and mud that needs to be run through a washing machine.

Vending Dokan!: Kozy Kiosk

Vending Dokan!: Kozy Kiosk is a cozy idler that lets you run a vending kiosk in an alleyway. You pop down vending machines, keep them stocked, and decorate the alley to entice customers to come check out your wares.

Out and About is an adorable crafting and exploration game that will take you through nature to forage plants. Not only will you be able to craft things with your findings, but you’ll be able to learn about them as well! Every plant that you see in Out and About correlates to a real-world plant. With over 100 plants and fungi in the game, you’ll be kept busy!
