There are 10 new cozy games out on Steam and it’s quite the spread. We have the all-important free game for anyone to enjoy, a comedy game that gives me the same vibes as Thank Goodness You’re Here, and a few horror titles!
Yeah, I know, you’re asking yourself what horror is doing here. But, everything can be cozy! It’s all about the delivery. These horror games may have spookier themes, but in the scheme of gameplay, they’re mild. From what I can tell, it’s mostly atmospheric and they’re not reliant on jump scares. So, if you’re looking for a cozy time with a bit of an edge, those are great to settle down into!
We do our best not to highlight games that use Generative AI at any level of development or marketing. At the time of posting, these games have not reported or disclosed using Gen AI. Likewise, all articles are written and edited by humans… as evidenced by our occasional errors.

Earth Must Die
Earth Must Die is a point-and-click interactive fiction game where you play VValak Lizardtongue, Grand Shepherd of the Tyrythian Empire. When threatened by the Terranoids, there’s only one thing to do: make them pay. It features comedic relief, an impressive voice cast, an alien orgy, and more!
THE SPIRIT LIFT
THE SPIRIT LIFT is a retro horror deckbuilder roguelike and you shouldn’t let the horror tag scare you. It’s tame. You’ll explore a haunted hotel in the 1990s and fight your way through it using unique characters and cards. When you die, rewind the night and get rewarded with new characters, bosses, and events that you can only acquire by restarting. Regardless of how well you do, you’ll earn Spirit points to make your next trip even better.

Green Pond Town
Green Pond Town is a mystery puzzle adventure game with light horror elements that are more atmospheric rather than jumpscare-reliant. After receiving a picture of faceless people, you’ll journey to Greenwater Town, where it was taken. With point-and-click mechanics, you’ll explore the area, uncover secrets, solve puzzles, and get to the bottom of the mysteries surrounding the town.
