It’s the weekend, so it’s time for me to wax poetic about the games that I found especially interesting over the last week. All of these games were released between January 19th and January 23rd.
I’m gagged that there are 21 games. It’s a magical time to be looking for cozy games. My wishlist and wall may need you to send for an ambulance, though, because ouch. Thankfully, one of them is free to play, so that helps an iota.
We do our best not to highlight games that use Generative AI at any level of development or marketing. At the time of posting, these games have not reported or disclosed using Gen AI. Likewise, all articles are written and edited by humans… as evidenced by our occasional errors.
My favorite cozy games released between January 19th and 23rd

On-Together: Virtual Co-Working
On-Together: Virtual Co-Working is a digital hangout where you can spend time with friends or strangers with the singular goal to work, study, or get stuff done. There are productivity tools, breaktime games, and hangout spots. If you need a body double, this game is a cute way to do that. Earn tickets as you focus to trade in for clothes, pets, and more!
Super Chipflake Ü: Quest for the Uncooked Schnitzel
Super Chipflake Ü: Quest for the Uncooked Schnitzel is an action-adventure 3D platformer where you play as a cat on a quest to fill your rumbling stomach. Explore the land to meet and help the locals. Merge items to craft tools and overcome obstacles, and use your shovel, grappling hook, and running shoes to your advantage. Do it all in the name of creating the perfect schnitzel.

Emberlands: Desktop Village
Emberlands: Desktop Village is an idle village builder set in the world of Into the Emberlands. Send your little knack out to hunt resources and build up a small town with what they’ve collected. By strategically building your town, you’ll passively collect ember that can be used to upgrade your knack or open more tiles. If you want even more options, you can spin the lottery wheel for a chance at exclusive tiles!
Auto Snakes in Outer Space
Auto Snakes in Outer Space is an incremental idler where you have control of a group of colorful snakes. They’ll collect food and you’ll use that on upgrades and abilities to improve their capabilities. Play as actively or as passively as you like and choose from 150 skins to create the colony that best fits your aesthetic.

Tailside: Cozy Cafe Sim
Tailside: Cozy Cafe Sim is a cafe management sim where you play at your own pace with no timers or stress. You’ll brew coffee, unlock new options for progression and skills, decorate your shop, and learn more about your customers every day. This game is moddable, so you can create characters all your own to play with!
Decollate Decoration
Decollate Decoration is a point-and-click game where you play a girl coming to grips with becoming a ghost. You have only one desire and that’s to talk to your beloved, but in this form, he can’t see you. The only option is to take him with you! Surely he’ll understand, right? There are 6 endings to discover, as well as a prologue and epilogue to play through.

Detective Bass in Fish out of Water
Detective Bass in Fish out of Water is a narrative-driven detective game where you play, unsurprisingly, Detective Bass. Work to crack the case of Mr. Salomon Chinhook, who was murdered on a luxury cruise liner. Speak to subjects, keep a record in your notebook, and use your wits to find out who is being sincere and who is dangling lies like a worm on a hook!
Escape from Ever After
Escape from Ever After is an adventure RPG inspired by Paper Mario. You’ll play as Flynt Buckler, a storybook hero who discovers that fairytales are being used and abused by a real-world megacorporation for cheap labor. Help Flynt as he climbs the ladder of the corporate world to dismantle Ever After Inc., and navigates multiple storybook worlds. Create a party that resonates with you, decorate your office, help with sidequests, find treasures, discover secrets, and even engage in office banter!

Tasty Planet: Final Bite
Tasty Planet: Final Bite is an eat ’em up reminiscent of Hole.io-type games. You’ll slide around six different apocalyptic scenarios, swallowing objects and people as several different creatures. With nearly 150 levels and the ability to play solo or couch co-op, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to bring destruction to the world.
Where We Went
Where We Went is a narrative-driven puzzle game. You’ll play as a moth character visiting an ancient tomb where you’ll team up with 3 different guardians, each with unique powers. By using the Recording Plate, you’ll be able to direct the Metal Beetle, Oil Owl, and Crystal Bat to conquer puzzles and challenges. This game is FREE TO PLAY!
