It’s a space-based point-and-click visual novel. You play as a woman who can create universes from the palm of her hand and explore a space station that sits in the clouds surrounding Jupiter. You’ll also play as a cultist who has been stripped to his bones.
That sounds gory, I promise you it’s not. The cultist religion in this game is about giving up things voluntarily for enlightenment. For instance, if someone talked too much, they might give up their tongue. None of this is depicted in the game and none of it is gory representations.
As you bounce between characters, you’ll learn more about each as you try to gain passage to Mars for a better life.
If you haven’t checked out my review, please do, but spoiler — I loved it. I’m not normally one who is able to just dive into visual novels very easily, but Universe for Sale rides the line of giving enough to tell a story, but allowing for satisfying interactivity so that you don’t feel you’re just reading with pictures.
Even if you’re not a fan of point and click or visual novels, I’d still urge you to go and give Universe for Sale a try. It’s free to do so, so you really have nothing to lose!
