August is nearly here and that means there is a whole new round of cozy games for us to get excited by! I’ve made up a list of 20 of the best games to look forward to.

Cozy games releasing on August 4th
Big Walk
Big Walk is an open-world exploration co-op adventure game. You’ll explore a large open world with your friends as you make discoveries, beat puzzles, and overcome challenges. What I love about this game is that it’s simple enough for everyone to enjoy and has a system built in that affects your voice based on where you are and how far away you are. It’s the perfect example of being a silly little guy.

Block Block Block
Block Block Block is a decorating game where you build up tiny diorama rooms. Decide every aspect of the rooms, not only in how it’s furnished, but the size of the room and the size of the objects within it as well. Whether you want to build up a bedroom, a bakery, or a whole castle, you’re only limited by your own imagination in what you can create. Stack things in interesting ways, change the colors of individual aspects, and do it all with a simple drag-and-drop system.
Mazey Village
Mazey Village is a puzzle adventure game about restoring a town after a tornado has blown through it. By exploring nearby mazes, you’ll be able to recover the scattered belongings of the villagers. Travel through different biomes to fill your map and solve puzzles. Along the way, you can catch adorable critters, go fishing, customize your avatar, and decorate the town inside and out.

ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs
ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs is a story-driven shop management simulator set in mid-2000s Tokyo. You’ll restore items inspired by beloved and iconic electronics. With a branching storyline, your responses and choices with customers will shape the story. Pull items apart to make repairs and be sure that everything is scrubbed up nicely. While the game has a lot of adjacently named electronics, nostalgic gamers will be excited to learn that this game features iconic Atari consoles, officially licensed for the game.
Capy Castaway
Capy Castaway is an exploration adventure game where you play as Capy, a capybara pup with an intelligent crow friend named Corvi. After a flood sweeps the animals away, Capy gets washed ashore on an unknown island. Together with Corvi, you’ll explore the world, solve puzzles, and help lost animals. You can play solo or with a friend in co-op mode.
Spiritstead
Spiritstead is a city builder where you build up and expand out a village for tiny townsfolk to live. In this land, humans co-exist and work with magical spirits who will help you create your safe haven. The city won’t run itself, though. You’ll need to assign jobs to your villagers while making sure their needs are met and getting enough enjoyment out of life. Gameplay is at your own pace, but if you want even more freedoms, you can play in creative mode and build without any expectations.
We, Junk Artists
We, Junk Artists is a “collage-and-guess” multiplayer game for up to 6 players where you’ll create a collage of different objects to depict a given word. Others will then have to guess what the creation is. It requires no drawing, as you’ll use a pile of junk that you can manipulate into bigger or smaller pieces to form your masterpieces with. As you progress, you’ll unlock more materials to create from.
Sovereign Tower
Sovereign Tower is a round table management RPG where you play as the Sovereign of a magical tower. It’ll be up to you to lead your kingdom. You’ll listen to the woes of your people, assign knights to handle their disputes, and try your best to keep everyone happy. Knights that aren’t fulfilled may leave your round table. Each knight has their own stats in strength, agility, charisma, magic, and wit. So, try to assign the best Knight for the job. If you make your choices wisely, you’ll be able to expand your kingdom and perhaps flirt with a romance or two. If things fall apart, you can try again by rewinding time.

Chop Chop Inc.
Chop Chop Inc. is a crafting game where building up a furniture empire out of wood is the goal. Start simply by chopping down trees and making wood planks to craft furniture with. With money earned, you can reinvest in your business for better tools and new machines to improve production. Eventually, you’ll open up new areas, encounter new tree types, acquire new upgrades, and work toward automation. Along the way, you can invest in the nearby city to help build it up to unlock new customers, missions, and secrets.

Verde
Verde is a management city builder where you build up a small town of seedlets. Build houses to attract villagers and while you’ll want to make sure you’re giving your seedlets everything they need, you don’t have to worry about strategies, stats, or efficiency. With the slower pace, you can focus on building out the town and beautifying it into a place that your seedlets will be proud to call home. Over time, you’ll build unique regions that will come with a different look and challenges to combat.

Tukoni: Forest Keepers
Tukoni: Forest Keepers is a puzzle adventure where you play as a Tukoni forest spirit. Autumn is just around the corner and it’s your job to help prepare the forest and its inhabitants for the coming seasonal change. You’ll encounter several different types of puzzles as you help make pillows and blankets. You won’t have to worry about what you need to do because your Notebook will help guide you in the right direction and offer help for solving puzzles if you hit a roadblock.

Cozy Marbles
Cozy Marbles is a building game where you create marble runs with a vast assortment of pieces in wood, metal, or plastic. Once you’ve built it up, you can set your marbles loose. Choose the color of your marbles, give them faces, or dress them up in hats for an even livelier race to the finish. Share the runs that you’re happy with and dive into runs created by others. If you’re a Twitch Streamer, it has Twitch integration so you can watch the races with your viewers.
The Witch’s Bakery
The Witch’s Bakery is a 2D Adventure game where you run a bakery, explore Paris, and dive into people’s hearts to help heal emotions. Not only will you be able to run and decorate your own bakery in Paris, but you get to make the baked goods with a series of mini-games too! When you’re not baking, you get to walk around the city and talk to people. You’ll even get to help your friends with a little bit of well-placed magic. The art in this game is so lovely and gives me strong Studio Ghibli vibes.

Puppergeist
Puppergeist is a rhythm game where you play as a witch named Calire who enters the Doggie Underworld to find her lost puppy. On your travels, you’ll encounter several dogs you can play games with and learn their stories. By using your rhythm, you’ll be able to lift their spirits and ease their troubles. It features original music, a heartwarming tale, and a story about friendship.

KOTAMON: My Sis Found A Super-Rare Card In Her Cereal Box, So I Became A Garbage Man To Find The Entire Collection And Earn $1,000,000 is a scavenging game. You’ll dig through mountains of trash to find interesting things, but more notably, cards that you can add to your collection. By completing sets, you’ll earn rewards and by selling the items you find, you’ll be able to invest in upgrades. The cards you find won’t be in perfect condition, so you’ll likely need to clean them up before adding them to your binder. The cards are all hand-drawn by real people, but due to the suggestive art on some cards, I wouldn’t recommend this game for younger audiences.

The Sorting Bureau
The Sorting Bureau is a sorting game that is set within a Tokyo workshop. Clients will bring you cluttered boxes of items that you’ll need to sort through and group into piles that make sense. Sort, match, and piece everything together with no time limits or wrong answers. Every box you get comes with its own story, whether it’s clutter from a chef, a watchmaker, or someone else. You can enjoy sifting through items that are different and connected to the person requesting your help.
Settler’s Domain
Settler’s Domain is a strategy settlement-building game. Scour the land for resources and use those materials to build necessary structures for survival. Not only will you be managing a town, but you’ll explore further into the unknown to discover a procedurally generated world. With the use of a large tech tree, you can research further advancements and with influence, you can recruit new settlers. Just be aware that larger populations have larger needs, so be sure you have enough food, medicine, and housing.

Sludgineers
Sludgineers is an active incremental game where you clean, mine, and refine pollution. Journey through the countryside and clean up sludge right from your van with a high-powered cleaning tool. With cash and resources earned, you can build a refinery, process materials, upgrade equipment, complete quests, and unlock new areas. Turn purple goo into profit and help clean up the surrounding lands.

Lou’s Lagoon
Lou’s Lagoon is an exploration and crafting adventure game where you respond to your Uncle Lou’s distress call, only to find the islands in disarray and your Uncle nowhere to be found. In an effort to find Lou, you’ll help rebuild the community and create a base of your own. Explore on foot to meet the locals and find secrets, or take to the skies with your seaplane to get a different view and participate in some flying challenges.

A Little Age
A Little Age is a city builder where you start with one small hamlet and build up your civilization into several sprawling settlements. Each settlement you start has its own production and local economy, so you’ll need to hire delivery guys to move resources between the towns. As your civilization grows, you’ll unlock new upgrades, discover new biomes and resources, and watch your settlements as they grow together through collaboration. With procedurally generated systems, you’ll never play the same world twice.
